MEDIAL PIVOT KNEE REPLACEMENTS
I continue to implant this design of knee replacements in all my patients. It provides them with more stability, more confidence when walking and a more natural feel that is closer to how a normal knee works.
Like in all knee replacements, the postoperative rehabilitation is difficult. In order to improve early flexion, diminish anterior scar related tightness, avoid anterior skin numbness and facilitate later kneeling, I now perform a longitudinal laterally curved incision as learnt from Dr Xabier Cassard who works in Toulouse.

DIRECT ANTERIOR APPROACH
I have performed 12 Total Hip Replacements using this approach.
It is very early in the journey with this approach and I am grateful to the patients that have agreed to go on it. So far, all had less pain and felt more confident during the early recovery period of the rehabilitation. It is too early to offer it to all and still at present I am offering the technique to selected cases.
